What are the two core AI components in Efekta's agentic teaching platform?

While AI tools have been used in education for years, they have largely operated in isolation from the classroom experience. Efekta’s learning coaches and teaching assistants bring student progress and learning insights directly to teachers, giving them insights that would otherwise take hours to uncover, or would be impossible to detect at scale across a whole classroom.

At the heart of Efekta’s agentic teaching platform are two interconnected components:

1. Efekta Coach™ is a student-facing learning coach. It provides one-to-one support through immersive simulations, personalized practice, and instant feedback – constantly adapting to individual learning styles, needs, and progress levels. Our technology brings the benefits of a personal learning coach, improving highly personalized learning for millions of students simultaneously, at a fraction of the cost of human-only instruction. It does not replace teachers, but complements them, ensuring that students receive individualized support. Every student gets a personal learning journey, while teachers focus on motivation and higher-value teaching. In other words, Efekta is making the benefits of one-to-one tutoring available to every learner.

2. Efekta Assistant™ is an assistant for teachers. Efekta’s Teaching Assistant gives educators real-time insight into student progress and practical guidance on what to do in the classroom - tracking nearly 100 different variables to measure student English proficiency hyper-accurately. It identifies students needing additional support before they fall behind, allowing teachers to focus on high-value interactions while AI handles personalization at scale. The tool also enables school administrators and government leaders to view learning progress across cohorts, schools and regions.

The two systems are designed to work together: students receive individualized support, while teachers retain visibility and control over the wider learning experience.

What is the difference between Efekta and other Edtech companies?

Efekta continuously analyzes learner performance to build a detailed picture of each student’s proficiency and progress. Efekta's technology tracks nearly 100 different variables to measure English proficiency in real-time with exceptional accuracy. The system captures over 25 million hours of data annually from live classes, curriculum usage, and AI interactions. This longitudinal data collection enables precise measurement of student growth and forecasting which students will achieve learning objectives, allowing teachers to intervene proactively.

How does Efekta measure student learning progress?

While AI tools have been used in education for years, they have largely operated in isolation from the classroom experience. Efekta’s learning coaches and teaching assistants bring student progress directly to teachers, giving them insights that would otherwise take hours to uncover, or would be impossible to detect at scale across a whole classroom.

Efekta technology allows educators to ask questions in their own language about their class or individual students and receive clear, contextual answers instantly. The technology also provides schools and policymakers with a system-wide view of learning progress, helping them identify gaps earlier and direct support where it will have the greatest impact.

As governments look to raise standards while managing teacher shortages, this visibility is becoming increasingly important.

Our AI teaching assistant (Efekta Assistant™) also supports lesson preparation. Teachers can generate tailored classroom materials in real-time, including warm-up activities, worksheets, listening exercises and full lesson plans. This saves them admin time and enables teachers to facilitate and manage the learning process. Most importantly, they are freed up to spend more quality time with students that need their support most.

What impact and results has Efekta achieved?

Efekta’s Agentic Teaching Platform democratizes access to high-quality learning, empowers classroom teachers, accelerates learning at scale, and delivers world-class education at the cost of a textbook.

The platform helps students achieve higher proficiency, unlocking access to top universities and meaningful careers and the next generation of global citizens.

Efekta’s partners include governments and ministries of education, multinational corporations, public and private school systems, universities, and publishers - all seeking to improve language proficiency and communication skills at scale.

In Latin America, Efekta  launched the world’s largest AI learning deployment to date; delivering over 100 million lessons that reached 4 million students and 25,000 teachers. In the Brazilian state of Paraná, 750,000 students saw a 32% improvement on the state’s standardized English test and a student/teacher engagement rate of 95%, after just two years using the platform. Efekta achieves similar results in learning improvement from its platform deployment across the world.

In Rwanda, Efekta launched a nationwide Teacher Training programme. Launched in July 2025 with a cohort of 16,000 teachers, the programme has rapidly scaled to reach over 90,000 participants and is on track to engage as many as 150,000 beneficiaries. Progress data from the first cohort shows clear and consistent improvement across all four language skills, with teachers advancing from A2 starting level into strong B1 proficiency and, in many cases, already reaching B2 and C1 levels on the CEFR scale. These results are particularly significant as B2 represents the national benchmark for teachers, demonstrating the programme’s effectiveness in supporting measurable gains in English proficiency.

In the enterprise space, Efekta has provided language learning to more than 3,000 companies - working with global corporations like McDonald’s, Amazon and Nike and providing scalable, cost-effective English training to their staff. By tailoring content to industry-specific needs,  Efekta has improved workforce communication and productivity.

Does Efekta replace teachers?

No. Efekta believes human teachers are central to high-quality education. Rather than replacing teachers, Efekta helps them be more effective by reducing their administrative workload and providing real-time insights into student progress. This enables teachers to spend less time on routine tasks and more time on personalized support, motivation, and meaningful classroom interactions.

How does Efekta address the global teacher shortage by offering personal tutoring for every learner?

Research (Benjamin Bloom’s two-sigma problem) shows students receiving personal tutoring significantly outperform those in traditional group classes. But it’s too costly for governments to scale and many also face an acute shortage of qualified teachers.

The global teacher shortage is particularly acute in language learning, with 2 billion English learners worldwide but only 5% achieving fluency due to insufficient personalized instruction. Efekta solves this challenge by democratizing personalized, one-to-one instruction at scale, making high-quality education accessible to millions simultaneously.

Does Efekta align with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals?

Yes. Efekta's platform advances UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by delivering personalized instruction at unprecedented scale, breaking down barriers to quality education worldwide and demonstrating how educational quality improvements translate into economic mobility and sustainable development.

What languages and subjects does Efekta teach?

We are aiming to add 100 million more students onto the Efekta platform within the next 3-5 years transforming English learning across the globe. And English is just the start; we are further developing our technology to support a wide variety of subjects including Math, Science & other languages like German, French, Spanish, Swedish and Portuguese.

What are the technical requirements to access Efekta?

Efekta is designed for accessibility across all popular desktop browsers and includes a mobile app for on-the-go learning on any device. The platform has been designed for areas where connectivity may be limited and core learning activities can operate offline, allowing learners to continue studying without a reliable internet connection.

This allows Efekta to support education systems with varying levels of digital infrastructure, including low-bandwidth environments.

What is the cost of Efekta's platform?

Efekta is designed to make high-quality education universally available scale, all for the cost of a textbook per student. This affordability model has enabled deployment in both private schools, public education systems, and corporate training programs across multiple countries.

How does Efekta ensure data protection?

Efekta’s systems are designed with data minimization and user protection at their core, upholding the highest standards of security and privacy. Schools can be confident that their learners’ information is protected, and remains entirely their own. We also follow strict child-safety guidelines, ensuring students are never exposed to inappropriate content or harmful interactions.

What safeguarding has Efekta put in place to ensure students’ relationship with its platform remains appropriate?

Exchanges between our agentic AI platform and students pass through a safeguarding check for age-appropriateness and topic-appropriateness before reaching them.

Our AI teaching assistant (Efekta Assistant™️) has been designed with student safeguarding as a first principle. If a student moves the interaction away from the relevant learning objective, the system redirects the interaction back to the appropriate learning context.

In addition, any concerning or inappropriate interactions are flagged by the system and passed to the relevant party or caregiver.

How does Efekta prevent cheating?

Efekta’s technology has automated cheating protection which is based on a sophisticated and proven array of anti-cheating technology. Our technology team monitors learning behavior and suspicious activities that could hint at cheating attempts which are then immediately flagged, investigated and resolved.

Does Efekta offer corporate training?

Yes. Efekta has successfully provided language training to over 3,000 corporate clients, including global corporations like McDonald's, Amazon, and Nike. The platform tailors content to industry-specific needs, improving workforce communication and productivity while providing scalable, cost-effective English training.
